Adding vs. removing tax
- • Add tax: tax = net × rate%, then gross = net + tax
- • Remove tax: net = gross / (1 + rate%), then tax = gross − net
- • Removing 20% tax is not the same as taking 20% off the gross — the divisor makes it ~16.67%
